Are we seriously nearing the end of May already?? My blog has been live in the Blogosphere for almost two months now! Even after just seven weeks, I can honestly say this is the most amazing thing I've ever done and the people I have connected with through this platform are such incredible, beautiful souls. Seriously, I love you guys!!!

I was going through my DM's this weekend and noticed so many of the questions I get asked are about my favourite things: books, songs, movies, clothing brands etc. I decided I would start doing a recap of my monthly faves on my blog. So here we are, a little compilation of the things I loved, that inspired me, moved me, entertained me or just made me happy in May!

To Watch:

Sex and the City - How I had never seen an episode of this show until this month is absolutely beyond me. And turns out my mum had never watched it either?! Don't disown us. We're remedying it asap.

The Fundamentals of Caring - A feel-good movie with a lot of heart and humour. Like a lovable mix of "Intouchables" (another fave) and "Little Miss Sunshine".

Spoken Word Poem - Olivia Gatwood - The title alone had me sold: "Alternate Universe in Which I Am Unfazed by the Men Who Do Not Love Me". I watched this so many times this month and Olivia's poetry book "New American Best Friend" is now atop of my reading list.

Ellen Degeneres: Here and Now - No-brainer. There are few things in life better than Ellen's old stand up stuff. She is one of my all time faves. And I rewatched this at the start of May with one of my all time favourite people.

Jade Chynoweth dancing to "Tyrone" - Jade Chynoweth makes me question my sexuality. Have you ever seen someone more connected to their own body??

My First Kiss - Swoozie - This month I've been a bit up, down and all over the place emotionally. There have been a few 'down' days where I just wanted to watch something lighthearted and laugh. I also just so happened to befriend this hilarious YouTuber. Not only is Swoozie funny, he has an undeniable talent for storytelling. His videos are captivating and cleverly made. He hardly needs my promo but if you're not already a subscriber, watch 'My First Kiss' and I bet my bottom dollar you'll soon be engrossed in back-to-back Swoozie vids.

Miley Cyrus Breaks Down Malibu - One of my favourite things in life is people with passion. I literally couldn't care less what you're passionate about, I will sit and listen to you talk about rocks for hours on end if that's truly what you love. Miley is radiating passion and genuine happiness in this video and I'm all about it!

To Read:

7 Strange Questions That Help You Find Your Life Purpose - This is a question I get from friends and people online all the time: "How did you figure out your life purpose?" and "How do I figure out mine?". From now on I'll be sending them the link to this article, pronto. I love Mark Manson for his no-bullsh*t approach to writing (and life). This is definitely my favourite blog post this month.

Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert - Guys, this is my breakup bible. I've read it after every breakup I've ever been through and I'll probably read it after every breakup that is yet to come haha. The Sunday Times said: "It has been passed from woman to woman like the secret of life."... so I'd be surprised if any girl reading this hasn't yet read EPL. If you haven't, you need to.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear - Clearly I just couldn't get enough of Liz this month haha. She really is one of my favourite authors and her writing has inspired and empowered me for years. I read "Big Magic" cover to cover last Saturday and this book was no different in that respect. It fell into my lap at just the right time and spoke directly to my soul. An absolute must-read for anyone wanting to live a vibrant, free and fulfilling creative life. I can quite confidently say I will never approach my creativity in the same way after reading this. I am so grateful for this lady!

To Listen

All We've Done (Lost Recording #9) - Mark Diamond

Way Down We Go (Stripped) - Kaleo

Alaska (Acoustic) - Maggie Rogers - I can't possibly explain how much I adore this song and what it means to me... so I'm not even going to try. Let's just say I've had it on replay for the past month, both this version and the original below.

Alaska - Maggie Rogers

Is There Somewhere - Halsey

Right Now - HAIM

Pony - Drax Project - And their whole 'Live Covers' EP.

November (ft. Lisa Mitchell) - SUPERCRUEL

Devil's in the Backseat - Lostboycrow

There For You - Martin Garrix, Troye Sivan

Woman - Harry Styles - I was never a 1D fan nor was I expecting to be a fan of Harry Styles solo stuff. But I could be a convert...

Malibu - Miley Cyrus - Not even gonna lie about how many times I've danced half naked around my room to this song. The number could be infinite.

Middle of the Night - The Vamps, Martin Jenson

Dead - Madison Beer - Girl Crush.

To Follow:

@sarahjdocker - Sarah has been my friend for ten years now. We met at high school when I lived in England, very shortly before I moved to the other side of the planet. Our friendship has held up pretty bloody well over the years, considering we haven't seen each other in person since. Not to mention a decade ago I used to have to get up at 5am to talk to her and my other British friends on MSN Messenger (RIP) 'cause of the time difference hahah. But anyway! I love this gal. She's an incredibly talented artist and blogger who has inspired and encouraged me endlessly in my creative endeavours. Go give her a follow! You can find her blog by clicking here.

@RupiKaur - I have never met this woman but God I love her.

@oursharedshelf- I just joined Emma Watson's Feminist book club. I'm yet to read my way through the list but I'm putting it on my monthly faves because I can already tell I'll love it. For the link to the Goodreads group, click here.

The Skin Deep YouTube Channel - "The Skin Deep" is a creative studio exploring human emotion & intimacy in the digital age. Their videos are so real, vulnerable and raw, I can't get enough. I've been obsessed for the past couple years but there has been some amazing content this month.

To Wear:

@UnrealFur coats - It's getting cold here in NZ so I've been living in my Unreal Fur coats.

Fishnet tights - I was wearing fishnets with almost every outfit a few years ago when they were definitely out and not "in" haha. So no one on earth was more excited about the return of fishnets this season, than this girl right here.

Embroidered anything - I just bought an embroidered leather jacket and it's basically what dreams are made of.

Off-shoulder tops - This "trend" is definitely on it's way out but that doesn't mean I'm ditching mine. I LOVE the off-shoulder look, it's feminine, flattering and subtly sexy.

To Download:

Headspace - My lifesaver. I've written a whole post solely dedicated to this app. If you've been following me for a while you're probably like "Cait, would you pleeeease stop bloody harping on about it". But GUYS. Download it. Seriously. I should totally have shares in this company.

Day One - A well-designed journal app to encourage me to write more. There are so many reasons why I want (and need) to start journalling. It's a great way to reflect and grow. Also, I have the world's worst memory. I'd like to write a book (possibly a memoir) in the future, so it'd be handy if I could actually remember the things that have happened in my life. I've only downloaded this on my iPhone so far. I will probably get it on my Macbook eventually, but it's so damn expensive!

Duolingo - Okay, maybe Elizabeth Gilbert really has got into my head too much this month... and maybe I really am taking this post-breakup 'Eat Pray Love' moment a little far. But Italy has been my #1 bucket-list place since I was a child. So I'm learning how to speak Italian... AKA I'll probably learn numbers 1-10 and then give up but at least I'm trying, right?

Voila. My monthly faves. I hope you find something here to enjoy! And I'd love to know the things that inspired you this month too. Leave me a comment below - I'd love to check them out! 😊

Until next week xx
