The Pits & Peaks of September 2017

Happy October, babes!

If this post has appeared on my blog a little later in the day than usual, it's because I'm currently sat in bed, writing this post at 2am ON Monday morning in classic last-minute-Cait fashion.

IDK about you, but the past month has been a crazy one for me. Not crazy as in I jumped out of a plane or got a tramp stamp or anything. But emotionally, spiritually and mentally, it really has been a crazy month. In the best kinda way.

And truth is, because of all this craziness, I have several rambly mind vomit type posts in the works right now. I was planning on publishing one of them today but decided I'm not quite ready to share some of these thoughts with the world just yet. So I'm gonna sit on them for one more week...

Until then, here's September's pits and peaks ☺️

P E A K S :

Sleepovers - If you stopped having sleepovers once you hit your twenties, GIRL you're doing life wrong. Among my closest friends, I have one best girl friend called Tay who is truly the other half of my soul (no exaggeration, we're so similar we're almost the same person). Whenever a need a breather from life, I pack my bags, buy a bottle of Pinot and drive straight to her house without a second thought. There aren't many better things than a friend who's willing to braid your hair, listen to you rant for hours and spoon you to sleep. Tay, you're a blessing I don't deserve 💗

Jesse - While we're on the topic of friends I can't fail to shout out my ride or die. If you guys watched our cringy AF impromptu Insta live stream earlier this month, you've already had the honour of meeting the sass that I call my best friend. We first met around this time four years ago and he's had my back through every high and low ever since. My life would surely be a lot less bright without this guy and he deserves a public shoutout for putting up with me this damn long.

FaceTime - Distance is quickly becoming the bane of my life (I live on a secluded island in the middle of the South Pacific, you guys). So praise God for this kind of technology. Until this month, I had never even used FaceTime before... yet the past week I've spent something like twenty hours on it. Seeing someone's face and hearing their voice in real time despite them being 6700 miles away is a feeling you can't really explain. If I had to pick only one September highlight, this would be it.

Books - currently 134 pages deep into Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer and I'm already convinced this book is going to change my life. If you suffer from any kind of negative thought patterns or ill mental health, this book explores mindfulness, psychology and scripture. It's blowing my mind and challenging me in so many ways. Seriously, go buy it!

Prayer - It can be easy to forget that the same God who set the stars in motion, is actually willing and waiting to hear from us at any given moment. I'm grateful that He cares and hears us.

1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

P I T S :

Wisdom Teeth -  Last Thursday I discovered I actually have SIX wisdom teeth, when my dentist started freaking out and called over her assistant to admire what a "rare case" I am. Lord help me. Thankfully, I don't need them removed just yet. But Oh. My. Life. Why does my entire head ache?!

Instagram - Someone, please tell me I'm not the only one with a total love/hate relationship with this platform? Like, Insta, I love u but sometimes u just mess with my mental state and I need a break.

My memory - I've already forgotten half the things that happened this month. Probably need to start taking Ginkgo Biloba pills to prevent dementia, but they taste like death.

Enough about me. What were your peaks and pits this month? Let me know in the comments! ☺️
